Dear European Union, thanks for destroying the internet. You've taken many people's livelihoods and worst of all, you have infringed on our free speech. I need your help to stop Article 11 and 13.
On June the 20th 2018, Legal Affairs Committee (JURI) voted for Article 11 and 13. Both laws will annihilate the competition of ideas. Still, we've got until the 4th of July to stop Article 11 and 13
Greetings, I'm the Ferrarinator. A petrolhead who loves making articles on cars and taking photos on Forza Motorsport 7 or, Gran Turismo Sport. The internet has helped me showcase my content on Youtube and Minds.com.
Article 11 and 13 will affect the user also, the content creators thanks to the link tax and algorithms that wouldn't understand context. From, photos, videos and articles these algorithms built for this legislation would pick and choose what the E.U wants, not what we need.
Material from commentaries such as The Volkswagen Golf GTI is overrated to making parodies like NASA confirms the Earth is flat.
Also, when linking clips, I used in my YouTube videos and showing citations that help me with researching my scripts. Linking is vital to me.
Many small businesses to start-ups from Kurtzegat to Minds.com will fizzle overnight thanks to the algorithms enforced by YouTube and Amazon Web Services. Thank you, European Parliment. You've taken many peoples jobs away.
Speaking of social media websites enforcing these laws start-up's like Minds.com and Bitchute wouldn't be able to afford these new algorithms. Moreover, both of these companies don't want to implement these laws.
Many areas of the web will die a painful death such as remixing music, car photography, etc. Besides, communities like Movie reviewers and political channels left, or right will end suddenly.
Getting a copyright strike on YouTube is a pain. Many videos on my channel have copyright strikes even though I follow fair use policies. Companies such as BBC and The Formula 1 group have stricken me with copyrights.
If this legislation does get passed posting videos on YouTube and Bitchute will receive many more copyrights than I already have. Why? The algorithms wouldn't understand the context of clips throughout my videos.
Picture this; I'm making a video on criticising the BMW X6. Meanwhile, the BMW Group decided "how about we stop videos and articles online ridiculing our motors". The cowardes BMW Group lobbied the European Union so they can control there message not the consumers.
Of course, my video with many others out there on YouTube plus, Bitchute will be stricken with copyrights or taken down. That's infringement.
Within reason, have a right to criticise game companies such as Microsoft regarding how they've managed franchises such as Halo and Forza. Plus we have rights to protest about laws such as Article 11/13 and what the consequences are.
Finally, the link tax. When posting videos, articles and occasionally photographs I want to show where my citations or websites are. Excerpts give the viewers or readers what sites I've used.
Providing the links I've used is obligatory and supplies the original writer or creator exposure. I didn't go out of my way to create this article or video.
From what I gathered publications like Auto Car and the New York Times want revenue for their works. Some users use Adblock to stop annoying pop-up adverts on their site or hate the subscription-based model.
So, to thump the creators, you need them to pay a link tax. Now the publications get a steady amount of income and get readers. That's a win-win.
I Ferrarinator, with many other citizens wouldn't be able to fork out on a link tax. Instead, why don't the main-stream media have an option to pledge on the sites?
Thankfully, I've got solutions to eliminate Article 11 and 13. Firstly, contact your favourite YouTuber requesting them to make a video on how Article 13 will affect other internet users.
Secondly, contact your MEP. If you're in the European Union, this one is for you. Please use the links I have provided (https://saveyourinternet.eu or https://www.mysociety.org/wehelpyou/contact-your-meps/) to reach out to your MEP.
Please don't verbally abuse your MEP because you'll ruin our chances of preventing these legislations.
Thirdly, share this video/article. If you don't have a YouTube channel or live in the European Union, share this video on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Dear European Union, thanks for destroying the information superhighway with Article 11 and 13. Knowing that billions of Euro's wasted on making algorithms that would censor influences and ideas. Freedom is priceless.
Ferrarinator needs your help to delete Article 11 and 13.
