The Cat Eats the Bird: Why One Should Not Trust the TradCaths and Evangelicals

There is a story that I heard as an adult and had to learn the hard way about a year or two before hearing it. It’s called the Little Birdie Who Waited to Fly South.

There once was a little bird who did not want to fly South for the Winter. He wanted to stay. So he waited until the bitter chills of late autumn came, and it was then, at nearly the last minute, that he began his migration towards the Equator.

But as he flew South, the cold winds of winter caught up with him. The biting cold of the sleet and snow made his muscles so frigid that he could no longer flap his wings. He could not stay in the air. He fell to the earth, crashing into the ground miraculously without injury. Yet still he was frozen. It would have only been a few more miles for him, and he would have been safe.

Then a cow came by. The cow took a shit on the bird. The shit was warm and it thawed out his muscles. Sure it stank, but if he lay it long enough, he could make it to safety.

While he lay there, a cat came along and smelled him. The cat pulled the bird out of the shit and ate him.

The moral should be quite clear. Sometimes, you’re fucked and, it is often the case, you’ve fucked yourself. In those times it is wise to remember that not everyone who shits on you is your enemy and, more importantly, not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.

I have my critics here on minds and I have an unfriendly personality. I am sure everyone here has been criticized so it’s not important to focus on those who shit on you. As adults, we should have learned, by now, how to take criticism, adapt it or ignore it.

However, right now, it seems that many people are willing to make allies or accept allies that will not be allies in the long run. Many who oppose the ochlocratic regime which encroaches upon the Western World have formed alliances with groups that oppose not the idea of ochlocracy itself, but the groups that will benefit from it.

So, Trump had to run as a Republican. Libertarians and classical Liberals are aligning themselves with Conservatives. Capitalists are aligned with Corporatists. All the groups that compose the objective nouns in those preceding sentences will stab their allies in the back. I promise this. Let us focus on one group as an example.

It was brought to my attention that a particularly Conservative movement of traditional Catholics (“tradcath” for short) are making waves, often aligning themselves with the “Trumpian” movement. They are quick to condemn Pelosi and Biden over heretical views on Catholicism; they even denounce their own Pope. These “rogue” Catholics seem to be the perfect allies!

Some people see this movement as the key to getting the more conservative Catholic movement, the American citizens of Hispanic descent, and other hardcore Conservatives on board with Trump. Let us not forget that a repeated attack on the President is his repeated divorces, his wealth, and his Libertine lifestyle. These were worries that the Republican National Convention had in 2016, and now that some of his political supporters are breaking ranks and joining Biden, it would seem that some emissary is needed between those who prize Liberty and those who prefer tradition.

However, what is not being paid attention to is their other operations. It was a tradcath movement that slandered Pornhub as a center for child pornography. Their chief claim was that Pornhub endangers women and girls (a claim that, in recent times, has come from the Communists and Feminists about anything with which they disagree). The tradcaths are involved in attempts to desexualize media; which is to say they seek not only to remove blatant pornography, but make virtually all nudity and perhaps even other provacative content illegal. They do this, they say, for the safety of the children. I hope the irony is not lost, dear reader, that Catholics worry for the safety of children now when not even two decades ago every excuse was made for pedophilic circles found within the higher echelons of their Mother Church.

Of course, they seek to abolish the LGBTQIA++ movement that currently leads the ochlocratic Democratic Party. And together, with the tradcaths, the Trumpians say “Biology!”. Forget not, my dear friends, that these tradcaths do believe, as an article of their faith, that some magic words said by a priest over a piece of flat bread and some watered down wine will transform this bread and wine into body and blood. That is the essence of the Catholic dogma called Transubstantiation. The essence of Catholic morality is hinged upon this article of faith. They see it as a demonstration of the power of their god. And make no mistake, they will seek not only to run their lives according to this morality, but yours as well.

“Marquis,” a made up straw man dissenter of mine says. “Marquis, I have talked with tradcaths and other Christian fundamentalists! They post memes danker than my own. Their jokes are dirty. They, too, like Trump!” I respond “Mr. Strawman, the Bishops have always practiced the very vices they preach against!”

But allow me to explain with an example of what I mean. In Sunni Islam there is a sect known as Wahhabism. This is the militant version of the religion which preaches Jihad against the whole world. Unlike their fellow Muslims, who deny themselves pork and wine, these Wahhabists take pleasure in these feasts. They fornicate. They do as they please. This they do, according to their own apologetics, to blend in with the infidel, so that they may infiltrate and subvert him.

In the same way, the tradcath sees nothing wrong in partaking in these sinful activities. After all, the Bishop agrees with Marquis that in order to know virtue, we must first acquaint ourselves with vice! He does not do these activities, so he says, because he enjoys them, but because he sees himself on a mission ordained by his god. Thus, the sins he commits are for the greater good and it is okay if he does do these terrible things. You, on the other hand, are a sinner. You will be punished when the time comes.

Allow me to illustrate another example. In the 1930’s, Germany was undergoing social upheaval. There was an organization called Antifa (the forebearers of the current terrorist organization). There were Communist movements, attempt to subvert Germany in the way Lenin had done the Russian Revolution (which, in its infancy, had more in common with the American and French Revolutions than it did with Leninism). The German people, frightened by the threat of such totalitarianism, voted into power Adolf Hitler and his National Socialist German Worker’s Party. A few years later, these Germans lived under the very totalitarianism they feared. Hitler had thought police, weaponized the country’s children, built concentration camps, and launched highly successful propaganda campaigns.

Let us not be the bird.
