Comedy is in a very bad place right now, constantly under attack by the pc police to limit what is acceptable to make fun of, but there was a Time where this wasn't the case.

I want to highlight a few of my personal favorite comedians, some of them might be slightly offensive but that just made comedy better.

Firstly i understand that most of them are not exactly "rare hidden gems" you mostly heard of a few or maybe even all of them, but maybe there is one on the list that you might never heard of and want to give a try. The list is not in order, as all of them are great and have a different style.

So lets start with Jimmy Carr, most of his humor is pretty normal dark humor, mixed with some great interaction with hecklers/audience.  His broken laugh also helps to get some chuckles out.

Doug Stanhope
, the guy that doubles down on stuff just to make a point, he has a lot of comedy against religion, drugs, i personally love his "i don't give a fuck" attitude.

George Carlin, probably one of the few guys that most people know or should know. He was against Pc culture since the beginning and he was the inspiration to most decent comedians out there.

Bill Hicks, was a social critic and a lot of his work is reflective of that, most of his comedy was controversial even to a time where you were more free to speak your mind.

Bill Burr, is a cynic and a contrarian who has never paid any heed to political correctness, mostly just going on with his fun rants that often hold quite a bit of truth to them.

Brad Williams, a comedian that makes fun out of his condition (dwarfism) in an amazing way.
-  I hate that when people are like, "Well, all dwarves know each other, right?" And you want to get mad, but you can't because we do

Mitch Hedberg, he had so many unique jokes that really stuck with me, wish there was more than a few clips of his work.

Early Works of Jim Jefferies, before he became sober and started his own news show, jim had some really good bits. Now he sadly took his side with comedy central that stands against almost all of his early comedy.

Lastly there are 2 very special comedians that mix a large part of their comedy with songs.

The first is Tim Minchin, an Australian Song writer that by his own words does a "funny cabaret show" as opposed to just a comedian. As an atheist a lot of his songs are about religion or social issues or just some that are funny and rather good to listen to.

The second is Bo Burnham, a young guy that got to fame rather quick and addresses many of those parts in his show, he started with short videos and at some point he managed to get his own very deserved netflix specials.

If your favorite comedian isn't on the list, feel free to drop a comment, maybe with a line why exactly he or she is your favorite. I left a few of the super famous ones out (louis ck, cris rock, eddie murphy, dave chapelle, jerry seinfeld, robin williams) as i don't think that anyone would need an introduction to them.
