The Purpose of A Course in Miracles

The Course is a powerful tool of forgiveness. It supports people in getting that this false universe is not real. It does not exist. Interacting with it as if it were real, as if it has value, is costing us the knowledge of who we really are, the supernatural Sinless Son of God. We will all come to know, eventually, that the world we see with our physical eyes and the self we think we are are false. That is what the practice of forgiveness is for. To get that it, none of it, ever really happened. We will all learn this. It is only the “time” it takes that is up to us. And when we have learned it, we will be home with God. The Course is an accelerated learning tool to help us get there “quicker”. Thank you God for the Course, a miracle, a remembrance of who we are in truth.

Miracles fall like drops of healing rain from Heaven on a dry and dusty world, where starved and thirsty creatures come to die. Now they have water. Now the world is green. And everywhere the signs of life spring up, to show that what is born can never die, for what has life has immortality. (W-pII.13.5)

Remember that the things of this world that “you” value are being valued by the ego/character/child; whether it is a favorite food or a relationship. And these selves are not valuing anything in the present. It is a past valuation being replayed in the present. Another interesting thing about valuation is—they always depend on your belief that you are a body. Try this; imagine for a moment that you have stepped out of your body and are pure light and love. What would pure light and love value? A certain food? A loved one? Money? A prized possession? A certain job? So what do we do about valuations?

First of all, notice them and acknowledge who is doing the valuing and then turn it over to the Holy Spirit. Do not attempt to change your behavior around valuation unless the Holy Spirit tells you to. Next, know that as you begin to identify yourself more and more with spirit, the valuations will simply fade into the nothingness from which they came.
