Reasons To Examine the Ego and Its Thought System

1) To get that it's not real (the universe is not real).

2) To get that it is not you. [the ego]

3) To get that it is a computer program.

4) To get that your participation in it presently is beyond your control (you're an addict to the ego thought system) and you need a guide (The Holy Spirit).

5) To get that you, as the ego, are not interacting in the present with the world or others. You are interacting with and in the past.

6) To get that nothing you are saying or doing is in the NOW.

7) To get that you, as the ego, are a child with childish actions, wishes and thoughts.

8) To get that the only reason the ego seems real is because you are willing to deny Truth and God for the ego's promise of perceived individuality and specialness.

9) To get you have nothing to fear from the ego. You made it up and gave it “life” by your belief in it. You can unmake it at any time.
