Norfolk orbital: exposing the "green" the establishment really cares about

The British empire has conquered most of the world in days gone by. And though the measures by which they did weren't, by todays standards, the most ethical, one thing they did pride themselves on was leaving those conquered lands with improved infrastructure. Whether said countries would have been happier minus this intervention is up for debate. Their ability to compete economically due to the British tradesmen is indisputable. One of the hallmarks and legacies of the empire is the rail lines and ease of transport for people and goods, enabled by the British.

Honing in to the homeland, in most of the country, we have these connections that allow people to commute to work and thus improve economic potential and the pool of employees companies have at their disposal.

This seems evident across the UK except in one particular area. One area that makes it more difficult, more expensive to commute into and out of than anywhere else. Not to mention the length of time travelling. Enter Norfolk. If you can. Equally difficult to exit. All thanks to a Dr. Richard Beeching. Who, under the Macmillan government, saw a closure of the non, or less, profitable railways as a way to fatten those in powers' pockets. Or have more funds to allocate elsewhere, depending on how you look at it. Given his main reason for the closures being to increase road infrastructure, allowing for less net tourists and commuters, suggests he was after a quick buck rather than long term investment. Or maybe it was lack of foresight. For a top government official, whether this ignorance is forgivable is another topic up for debate. A difficult position to defend especially with climate alarmists even then. Though compared to todays establishment, his place on the scale of honesty to oops I forgot to mention that, is admirable.

When we now have not just the "green" incentives plugged continually, billboards, adverts on T.V, a proportion of taxes going towards them; but also the contrast between how remote Norfolk is compared to the rest of the country, it's not surprising a lot of Norfolk inhabitants still have contempt for Dr. Beecham.

Add to this, Norfolk orbital. An organisation that are looking to provide the planning to re-open these closed down railways. A further condemnation on the government at present is the main road (or rail) block facing the public and Norfolk orbital. This isn't just about the Norfolk orbital, a way to connect and the obstacles it faces. This is about exposing what the establishment claims to stand for, and what it really does. Apart from the costs of re-opening and building new rail lines to connect Norfolk to the rest of the UK, the government officials have added what they would potentially lose in petrol, insurance and road tax to the cost. How then can this very same government constantly preach about doing what is good for the environment, when a charitable organisation offers them the chance to do just this.

It appears that just like in Dr. Beechams time, that quick buck evidently remains more important than the oh so precious environment. This hypocrisy isn't likely to change as long as the public continue to elect the establishment parties that preach one type of green while focusing firmly on the other.

The bottom line, don't trust any politician that claims to be pro environment yet doesn't offer anything that won't line their own pockets. Just another thinly veiled stance to ask of the public to do what they have no intention of doing themselves.

This isn't exclusive to purely British governments' establishment of course. The Swedish governments "You people should be charitable and embrace immigrants...oh us? We're fine over here, miles out of the way in our mansions." See the same for democrats who oppose walls except for the ones outside their own homes.

I suggest we make it mandatory for every policy a politician proposes, they have evidence of practicing themselves.

At the moment this would mean jeremy corbyn invites refugees into his own home, giving his money to the homeless, providing tutors for the uneducated...despite all his money he does none of the above. The current P.M doesn't fare much better. Theresa may should be allowing 24/7 surveillance given the EU regulations she passed that see an Orwellian internet in the near future. Theresa and the commie represent the establishment. They're not likely to change. But it needs to be policy that those we elect in future practice what they preach. It has become a taboo to challenge anything "green" as soon as a politician puts forward environmental proposals, let's see them talk evidence, let's see them practice what they preach.

Not only will support for Norfolk Orbital put faith in those behind it, help the public, but it would also resolve some of the confusion at how detached those at the top in Westminster are from the public. Or better yet, electing someone who isn't so detached in the first place. And if they are going to insist on preaching about the environment how about some experience in agriculture? All politicians todays pale in comparison to UKIPs Stuart Agnew. Long history in farming and agriculture. The most qualified to talk about this yet because he is aware of all the green corruption that's happened over the years, isn't given much press time.

Of course he, like anyone should be judged continually by his and his parties' consistency. But for green issues and for practicing what they preach, they are by far the best party.
