And now, everyone, it's time for Journal Entry #11 of my RPG journey. This time the P.O.V. shifts to the Half-elf Rogue, Mali. And oh boy is there wuite a bit tot ell. So without further adieu let the journey continue.

Okay, note to self, I never want to be a Monk! But I'm getting ahead of myself. Today we started off making contact with some very nasty Duergar Dwarves. ooh those characters really give me the creeps. finally dealt with the remainder of those damn Hook Horrors. They have bird-like traits but I see now why those things are more like relatives of the cockroach, ugh!

We fought against Hook Horrors, Hook Horror Guardians, and a Hook Horror Matriarch. Thanks to a combination of Brianna luring the rest of the swarm out of hiding and Terrax's fireball and skull trap spells we really laid the hurt down on those things. Though it wasn't easy. I myself took some blows when I stupidly ran into combat after forgetting to reload my crossbow. Brannon and Garrett both nearly died in the battle, I confess it was scary. I don't know what I'd do without Garrett. Thankfully we took care of business and returned to the Duergar dwarves to report our success.

After receiving a nice reward for dealing with the Hook Horrors the leader of the Duergar charged us with the task of killing the Monks. A task I do not relish. Though the look on Terrax's face and the way Brannon schooled himself not to say anything tells me that we're going to do no such thing, which is just fine by me. There has to be some semblance of law in this chaotic region.

the second level we dealt with a bunch of Umber Hulks and that's where I learned why Brianna had been collecting those poisoned glands from those spiders and other creatures, that includes the Hook Horror Guardians. It turns up, much to my disgust, she's actually been slowly consuming those things in order for her body to utilize a technique called Diamond Body.

As Brianna explains it it's a technique where a monk is in such control of their body that they become a immune to disease and poison. Brianna had finally succeeded in mastering that technique. Though after hearing a about it I wish I hadn't. Just thinking about how Brianna went about it makes my skin crawl.

When we reached the end of the caves second level...more of our recent past came back to haunt us. We ran into a wizard from the infamous Hosttower of the Arcane. One of my Mom's acquaintances from the Shadow Thieves who came from Luskan told me about those guys. The Hosttower are a nasty bunch. It looks as though the Legion of the Chimera also have some influence in Luskan, that would explain why so many ships headed to Targos were ambushed and destroyed. So it looks as though Dar'Kandra is right for the good of the realms the Legion of the Chimera must be stopped! We defeated Harshoon his spell casters, Archers and some nasty hard hitting creatures known as War-Bears. Which brings me back to how they knew about us and were waiting for us. It turns up that treacherous couple Leevi and Carita sold us out before Harshon fed the two to the war-bears. Lousy way to go, but it wasn't like they didn't have it coming.

After defeating the Hosttower ambush we made our way to the Monastery of the Black Raven Monks. Along the way we had to deal with a b bridge that had a nasty trap on it. I successfully disarmed it, but it was treacherous going there for a while. We then ran into a large pack of yetis. And we proceeded to turn them into pelts.

Once inside the monastery things got really interesting. We talked to a monk named Salisam Harbush and learned thigs were not right in the Monastery, We soon learned why when we were refused passage to the Underdark passage by acting head Aruma. It seems the elader of the Order is currently being held by the Legion of the Chumera. We returned to Sal;isam, and became involved in the order's politics when he asked us to relieve Aruma of her duties for the good to the order. On a hunch my cousin Brannon asked me to break into the quarters of a man Aruma has been seen with recently Dolan Daemha, a tiefling from Sigil who serves as a embassary from the Legion of the Chimera. Though from what Brannon told me in his conversation with the creature he didn't sense any malice on the man. Still my cousin asked me to break into Dolans Quarters. And that's where I found the note laying out the Legion of the Chimera's plans to keep the order out of their affairs, since their leader refused to join. I can't reiterate enough, the Legion of the Chimera needs to be stopped! When Brannon revealed the truth to the two Aruma was furious, embarrassed but in the end she did what was right and resigned in favor of Salisam. She and Dolan then headed off for Sigil, probably never to be seen again.

We went around the Monastery doing a few more minor tasks. but afterwards we headed down to the area known as the ight chambers where a person or group of people are tested to become members of the Black Raven monks. The tests from what we've learned are deadly. It seems rather strange, and harsh, But Brianna noted it reminded her of the trials she went through to become a member of the Order of the Broken Ones back at her own Monastery between Luskan and Neverwinter.

The first test Brianna went though was the Chamber of Stone where she had to pull levers and fight first one, then two, three, and finally four stone monks. I have to admit watching Brianna have to hit and run around that room made me more than a little dizzy. Brianna got hit several times by those monks and had to use her special power to regenerate wounds. If that's what it takes to be a monk then this rogue wants nothing to do with that! Thankfully Brianna beat the test. Now there's still seven more chambers to deal with. I have a sinking feeling this is only going to get worse. And when we get to the Underdark passage and the resting chamber underneath the Monastery, I have this nasty feeling that that's when those Duergar Dwarves will make their move. So yeah I genuinely believe this is only going to get worse. I only hope that my crossbow and rogue skills can keep the party, and more importantly, my Garrett, alive!

Well that concludes this journal entry. I hope you enjoyed it everyone. With the completion of this Journal Entry I've caught up to my current point in Icewind Dale II. Beginning Sunday, April the 28th 2019, I will begin putting up Journal Entries once a week. So you'll have time to catch up.
