Blog #10: Patron Tiers elaborated
This is the third attempt to make a proper blog entry. It took some time to come up with this. Ironic that this idea had been in the back of my head, and it slipped by me time and time again. But now is as good a time as any to talk about my patron tiers elaborated to a more proper extent. There’s only so much one can do in a limited space.
But here in this blog entry the patron tiers can get a more elaborate explanation. Now in the name of transparency this must get made clear. These patron tiers got created for making money. And if it's made from entertaining you the reader, then it’s a priority to provide the best work possible.
Give the customer good quality work and it’ll make sure they keep coming back. Hence why input and constructive criticism are always welcome.
Now this blog/essay will concentrate on the various patron tier memberships. That is the price and benefits of the various patron tiers. And one more thing of note, these membership tiers got created back in 2020 during the lockdowns. So, they got created with the understanding that people’s wallets are not as robust as they used to be.
These prices will remain the same even as people's economic situation improves. It's good to have consistent pricing. It should be of note these patron tiers have names from medieval fantasy settings. Nothing against sci-fi but medieval fantasy titles sounded catchier.
Local Patron
This tier of membership is the lowest one, but no less important. Local Patron tier is the easiest tier to afford. The price is 3 Minds tokens, or $3.25 on Minds and Subscribestar. In this tier there will be some short stories and serials. All Local Patron tier members get a monthly shout out from me as a form of appreciation.
Also, Local Patron tier is where most of the story arcs for the Willowsbrook Chronicles will be.
Merchant Patron
This is a rather interesting patron tier as it's a bit higher than Local Patron. This comes at the price of 6 Minds tokens or $7.50 on said platforms. In this tier people get a monthly shout out for starters. They also get sneak peaks into forthcoming projects or serial chapters.
Members if they have a channel with content can get plugged here. Please make sure the content is PG-13 att best. This is a good tier for those who have channels or websites they want advertised.
Please note if you want to view any Local Patron tier stories or serials, you’ll have to do so from Subscribestar. For some reason Minds doesn’t allow Merchant tier or higher to view Local patron stuff. Why this is so is not known but it's frustrating. But if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve matters, I’ll listen to what’s said no problem. Listening to the customer is important.
Noble Patron
Now comes the upper level of the patron tiers. This tier of patronage is available for the price of 9 Minds tokens or $11.25 on Minds and Subscribestar. Noble Patrons get the monthly shout-out and any channel plugs they want. Noble patrons also get Merchant Samples from the Merchant patron tier. But Noble Patrons get access to what’s called the Nobles Club.
This is a special benefit available only to Noble Patrons or higher. This tier allows access to special original short stories and great serials. Serials like the sci-fi saga Clanless. This tier got created to reward those who want some of the higher tier quality of work I have to offer. And on my word, I’ll do my best to deliver the kind of work that will make Noble’s Club patrons happy.
Again, it’s all about the customer.
Royal Patron
The next patron tier is the Royal Patron. This tier comes at the price of 12 Minds tokens or $15.00 on said platforms. This is a tier reserved for Kings and Queens. In this tier members get entered into a monthly contest. A 20-sided die gets rolled.
Whoever wins gets a poem from me about them. This is one of the tiers with only 20 spots available on both platforms. This got done because if there are too many people in this or the next tier no work would ever get done. And stories and serials must get written so there has to be some limitations put on.
Also, limiting the number of people who can be part of this tier makes them more tempting. And it’s important to intrigue potential patrons. So, all the benefits of all the previous tiers plus a royal poem about them from me adds to the benefits.
Imperial Sponsor
Behold the very top of the patron tiers. This could be one of the most tempting of all the tiers as well. Because of which the monthly price on membership is the most expensive. Membership price is either 15 Minds tokens or $18.25 on Minds and Subscribestar. Some would ask what makes this tier so special?
Well, here are the reasons why it's so expensive and tempting. First all benefits from Local through Noble Patron tiers are available here. Also, there is another 20-sided dice contest here. But whoever wins doesn't get a royal poem. Instead, Imperial Sponsors who win get the chance to be a character in one of my stories or serials.
This is my way of saying thank you for choosing such a grand tier of membership. Be aware this tier has a limit of 20 on both mentioned platforms, so there's limited space. As with Royal patrons this was to make sure there's a reasonable number of people for this tier. Lots of respect and appreciation for customers but there's still work to do.
Also limiting the number of people in this tier makes it more tempting. And bringing in customers/patrons is the name of the game.
Well, there you have it folks. These are the patron tiers on My Minds and Subscribestar channels along with the price tags. Pick whichever you feel comfortable with and what you can afford. Please make sure to take care of yourselves first.
