Former Council Member with History of Racist Facebook Posts Embroiled in New Controversy

The sign pictured at the top of this post appeared near Vega, Texas in recent days.  The sign has created a national stir.  Here is just one example.

But what the national media has missed is that Randy Burkett, owner of the sign company, is an Amarillo, Texas resident and former City Council member with a history of controversy, including twice being called out for racist and anti-Muslim Facebook posts.  You can view a sample of the news coverage here and here.
