The porch is local crushed blue and white muscle shells, the roof is local harvested thatch actually everything between is locally sourced and organic
You can cook in this stove, it is also a mass oven, right next to the kitchen with a recycled stainless sink and counter top, everything was built by the home owner.
Kitchen and front living space has windows along the whole front south facing wall to collect passive solar heat from the sun! And yes, that is another mass oven! And there’s a third in the guest house.
Part of the Dining room left, part of the kitchen to the right, recycled marble floors, with a wood slice art wall dividing the next living space.
A nice space in the wood art wall, they make nice candle holders
South window behind me, looking into bedrooms and seeing the north facing windows
Some of the building photo album! it explains everything.
The bathroom is a collage of recycled marble table tops too! There’s a composting toilet, I’ll spare you the pictures of that.
Look out of the bathroom port hole instead!
More of the floors, recycled tile, wood slices, and some brick tiles it’s so natural, I think the grout is simply sand.
Remember the curved wood wall? Here’s a curved rock wall on the other end, and a front office, or guest room. There is spots to put candle holders on the other side!
The other side lit with candlelight in the dining room
Upstairs, burlap insulation, upstairs porch the whole upstairs is 2,500 square feet as big as my old house, and that doesn’t include downstairs! You could camp up there!
Looking in from the upstairs porch, south facing passive solar windows and water heating unit on the right
The last 5 pictures are of the guest house. all recycled or locally harvested materials passive solar, mass stove.
My favorite tile, anyone know what this is? Tune in for part 2, where we walk around the lake!
