A CAPELLA DREAM

PRESENT PREDICAMENTS
Dear reader, imagine if you will, living in an African country- Nigeria to be specific – bedeviled by constant power outages, erratic and uncontrolled supply, and exorbitant charges for poor services. Imagine having to get used to the very unpleasant sound of a power generating set in the background as you work on your project, do your homework or just relax at home after a hard day’s job. Imagine constantly hearing of a relative or family friend whose business had to close down because of the extremely high cost of generating their own power supply that just wasn’t proportional to the generated income. Imagine having to sit in hot, stuffy classrooms with the lecturer droning on and on about a topic you can only attempt to visualize using plain imagination but can’t see because of the absence of power for the teaching aids and PowerPoint slides. Imagine being the surgeon performing that very delicate surgery in the theatre or that very anxious football fan just before the penalty kick or the housewife that just turned on the television set to watch her favourite sitcom after waiting all day… all these happening just before one of the incessant power outages take place.
HOW CAPELLA CHANGES ALL THAT
Now imagine waking up to the possibility of never having to face any of these situations ever again. How would you feel? How would you react? You would be relieved and hopeful, right? Maybe even say a prayer or two looking for divine empowerment to the source of this possible solution. A quick run through the website and whitepaper of the Capella project and learning about it is sure to bring a sense of hope to any one faced with daunting energy challenges as a large population of people currently do.
ADVANTAGES OF USING THE CAPELLA PLATFORM
--With CAPELLA, members are incentivized to produce electricity using renewable energy sources that are not only cost-effective and sustainable but have no negative impact on the environment situated by allowing them to sell off the excess power generated that they don’t need to another member at a fee. These former ordinary power consumers now turned “prosumers” are paid by the CAPELLA platform while the other members they supplied have to pay 1 Capella for every 1 kWh of power.
--Capella monitors the power stations of these prosumers using their AI-powered platform known as MATRIX to check for if they are in a sound, proper functioning state. The results of these can easily be checked for and seen by any prospective or current customer who then has an array of other producers to choose from that meet their requirements in one.
--Capella also monitors, in conjunction with Big Data Analytics, weather forecasts which help the producers and consumers properly plan ahead for eventualities that could occur in such events.
--Issues of exorbitant charges (bordering on extortion) for services not received will also be stories of the past as “smart meters” would be used to measure the amount of power received by every consumer and amount used on average with this information easily accessible by his/her power supplier to allow for even more efficient supply system with minimal wastages.

Having learnt about all these mind-blowing possibilities that Capella aims to bring to the fore, it is expected that anyone would be as excited as I am and seek to share the good news to just about everybody to contribute in my own little way to less poisoining of our plante's atmosphere.
