Too often do I see people blame all of the right, or all of the left, where it is clearly the authoritarians among them. So let me make the case why we need to single out the people who are responsible and not those who actually oppose them even though on the same side.
I sometimes see myself as an old fashioned Hippie, with the whole 'Make love not war' and 'Live and let live' mindset I live by. So in many regards people can call me Far Left. For the longest time in my life I opposed the Right and utterly disliked many of the outspoken Christians that were telling me how TV, Movies and games were evil. Also how they opposed people who were gay and how it was a sin, totally rubbed me the wrong way. Now there were also a ton of other things that I disliked, but basically it was all about where they were taking/keeping away rights of certain people.
In the last 12 years it has become more and more clear that Christianity and the Right have been losing a lot of main stream influence, being replaced by the Left. This first seem to have been a good things and with that I hoped the Authoritarian tone in the media would go away. Especially with Occupy Wall Street suddenly showing it's head and Obama becoming President, I had good hopes.
Sadly now I can only say that everything is just as Authoritarian as it has been before, but now movies, tv series and games are being blamed for all the bad things in society by the Left.
This confused the heck out of me, since I was sure I was at least as Left as most, yet I kept on being at odds with them. Things like Elivatorgate, Gamergate, Anita Sarkeesian, Metalgate and Comicsgate just keep on popping up and people trying to force us to like Ghostbusters, Star Wars and other Politics tainted products. So in a way 'my' Left was no better than the Right.
Basically the current Far Left, born out of a culture of helicopter parenting who seem to be so spoiled that the smallest transgression (aka micro transgression) can already cause them PTSD and make them want to retreat in their safe spaces. This is not meant maliciously, these are things reported all over social media and in written papers on how life is among these SJW's.
They lack the insight of what is going on in the world or rather seem to avoid it since it often seems to be going straight against their views of life.
(but this deserves a whole new blogpost)
The Alt Right in this regard is just the same as the SJW's, but where Alt Right have a strong focus in the danger from outside, the SJW's are focused more within the group and ignore the danger from the outside. This means that you often have to reverse things in the polar opposite to understand them in regards to the SJW's or you see them bend so far, that they end up doing the same things, but from another starting point. This is how they both seem to be prone to antisemitism and seems to fit the 'Horseshoe Theory'.
(but also this deserves a whole new blogpost)
It took me a while to understand and even now non of the SJW's (And Alt Right) get it no matter how I try to explain to them (or don't want to get it). But how could they, when even not most people who are against these SJW's like Sargon of Akkad, Paul Joseph Watson and even Left Wingers like Tim Pool seem to miss this. Too often do they blame 'The Left', grouping us all together, which does not help us at all.
What is actually funny since especially Sargon has asked his 'Gamergate' followers to do a Political Compass and what was the result: Most were Left Wing 'Libertarians'.
If you only look at this as a Left vs. Right. It makes sense to someone all the way to the left, that if you oppose them you mist be right. But this is the one dimensional thinking that is the problem. If you take into account the whole Libertarians vs. Authoritarians it all makes sense. So we have to try and at least see this on a two dimensional playing field.
So I as a person might be just as left as most SJW's, I disagree strongly when it comes to liberty. The way they think we are right and all those who oppose us must be restricted by all means possible, make them exactly the same as the Christian fanatics.
This is why we need to define the people who are the problem. Saying it's the Far Left that is the problem, makes it so that people on the Left who do not agree with them are still insulted by such general terms. This way the Left Wing Authoritarians (SJW's), can not use them as a shield. Since often they rile up things concerning Racism, Sexism, Transgenderism and other things, claiming to be fighting in name of certain minorities, while all to often these people speak out saying they do not represent them.
The same has also been done by Christians and Islam, who also try to speak in name of others and quote mine their Holy Books where it suits them best. So this is not an Left vs. Right issue, this is a tactic used by all Authoritarians.
So make sure to call them by the right name, this way they will lose their power over others and even get those who also oppose them on our side.
Authoritarians know there is power where people congregate, sooner or later they try to infiltrate it and then take power by shaming people. Pointing out these individuals and their ideology. So as long as things are new and fresh, they will not yet come in, but once something proves to be attracting money and thus power they try to step in.
What the Authoritarians so far seem to have been doing with great success, is that the people are more divided than ever(as seen in multiple videos done by Tim Pool). While when talking with people personally, they often are not that far apart, but especially Social Media seems to strengthen the divide.
Also the media seems to love the divide and make a lot of money by triggering people, also the Politicians thrive by it taking away the power of the people. Also the big corporations and film makers seem to have stepped in playing the whole identity politics game and virtue signaling all over.
This way the sense of danger, the sense of people not being understood and making it harder to find that what brings us together only takes us further away from what is best for us all.
We will need to all start by first gaining power over our own situation 'clean up your room' and take responsibility of our own lives. So first we need to learn to be emotionally and in other ways independent from others, before we can learn to lean on each other again. Since only when we really know what we can and can't do can we properly work together. Also this helps us to filter where to get our information from and not be only dependent on one or two news stations as most are.
Dare to ask questions and take back your power of how to determine your own life. This might perhaps not be best for everyone, but at least give room to those you can trust to do so for you where you are less equipped.
Basically it all boils down to responsibility, but as with my blog post about religions, I will also make one specifically about responsibility.
But for now, please don't generalize and make sure we label those correctly to take away their power and defense.
