On April 22, the Association of Polish Independent Physicians and Researchers met at the Warsaw Press House to warn the international population about the WHO project: " International Treaty on the Prevention of Pandemics and preparing for them .
Initiated by the members of the World Health Organization on December 1, 2021, the project aims to lead to a " convention ", an " agreement " or to bring out an " other international instrument " strengthening the " prevention of pandemics and preparing for and responding to them ”.
If on paper, this collaborative objective seems virtuous, these scientists nevertheless warn of the risks inherent in this program. According to them, this type of collaboration could be the door open to the loss of sovereignty for countries, as well as the risk of establishing states of emergency leading to the loss of citizens' freedoms, as soon as an epidemic is declared. " What's going to happen when the head of the WHO hits the 'pandemic' button? Today, we are going to try to answer these questions, to make Poles aware of a real danger to their civic freedom, ” explains Anna Kurkowska, presenter of the press conference.

Not rejecting in any way the potential benefits of international collaboration on the management of future pandemics, the speakers of this conference are however wary of the recommendations of the WHO, in particular since its management of the Covid-19 crisis.
These doctors and researchers particularly insist on their independence. Their lack of confidence in the WHO comes mainly from the conflicts of interest that they denounce between the members of the organization and the major pharmaceutical laboratories, producers of vaccines, among others. Thus, Dr Sienkiewicz, Emilia Sykut-Domanska, Tarnawa-Gwozdzc, or even the director of " The Evidence-Based Medicine Consultancy ", Tess Lawrie , come back to the financing of the organization founded in 1948, or even to the censorship of media and researchers opposed to his speech for two years.

Negotiations around the treaty have not yet taken place. However, stakeholders are already making certain recommendations. Representative of the Institute of Justice and Citizenship in Costa Rica, Dustin Bryce proposes: " No treaty will be conclusive - and this also concerns the WHO - if it has an executive or legislative legal power that can violate the Constitution of a nation, or its writings defining its legislative independence. Persecution and censorship of different opinions, in relation to people's commitment to science, is prohibited. Free and transparent debate will be protected by law, it will be created with the aim of ensuring public interests. »
This draft international treaty did not make much noise in France. That said, several French researchers plan to organize a symposium to discuss the question of the national sovereignty of countries in the face of this reflection by the WHO.
