The V3 Septemberfest (Veterans Victory Velo, what used to be known as the V3 Hopfest) will be brought to you this year featuring some exciting experiences. It is still essentially the bike ride you have year after year, honoring the san ramon festival, but with the perfected thrills and challenges you have looked forward to.
Go for the race of your life, and choose your level of bike riding. There is a variety being offered, so every biking enthusiast in the family can join the fun. And of course, your participation and your enjoyment will fuel the charities we support.
Register for the race, and pick your challenge. There are four scenic courses to choose from, so you can choose the Family, the Metric Century, the Century, or the Half Metric experience. The fun and the scenic appreciation are open to all, from the most advanced of bike riders to the greenest beginner.
The 2019 V3 Septemberfest charity bike run will give participants an opportunity to glimpse the wonderful sights along the foothills of Mount Diablo. The courses shall meander through the romantic Livermore Valley vineyards and run through the streets of lively San Ramon.
Here is a list of ride lengths you can decide on, depending on your experience and heart:
1. 15-Mile bike ride – This will be the easiest among the rides to handle, and preferably for the youngest or the oldest, whatever the case, or the least experienced. But it won’t lack in spectacular views, as it can go as high as 1,093 feet of elevation. The trail runs through San Ramon and Las Trampas, and eases back to the Bishop Ranch.
2. 30-Mile bike ride – This is more challenging than the 15-mile distance ride but includes a few elevation variations. This will be a pleasant bike run along the southern portion of the area, into Pleasanton, under wondrous tree canopies, and then going through history-rich area of Sunol community.
3. 60-Mile bike ride – Another moderately challenging route that involves some maneuvering on climbing roads, up to elevations of 2,133 feet, this nevertheless is a breathtaking ride not just for the height involved but for the expected scenery you will pass through. Pedal through some of the most beautiful spots in the California countryside, smell the rolling vineyards as you go past, and breathe in the wonderful vista of hills and farms in the area.
4. 100-Mile bike challenge – One hundred miles of some exacting climbs, not for the fainthearted, but still much of a nature trip through the natural scenery of East Bay. There will be two up to 1,600-feet climbs along some rolling hillsides, cruising into the vineyards at Livermore and the tree-shaded streets of Sunol as well as Pleasanton. The ride will consist of a total climb of 4,573 feet, and wonderful for those on the lookout for a challenge.
Save the date for the San Ramon festival happening Saturday, September 21, at San Ramon, California. But it’s more than just a bike ride, as it’s a gathering to celebrate the close of the summer season and the welcoming of the fall. And as with every festival, there will be lots of food and beer all around, and of course, being California vineyards, more wine to celebrate with and live music with an abundance of the California sun and warmth to vibe into.
And if you’re one to look beyond the flowing food and wine, your participation shall go a long way in continuing our support for programs we care about, which touch the lives of veterans as well as the youth. For more information, click here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Victorian_Bike_Rid
