I've been spending much of this past week working on a new block print (and I have another new one in the works for later this week and next).
This is a small card-sized piece using a technique called chine collé to give dress a bit of flair. I have a stash of decorative paper which I've coated with water activated Nori Paste glue. After the glue is dry, I cut a bunch of the dress-shapes out of them.
During the printing phase, after I've inked my block, I carefully place these tiny cut-outs on the block, glue side up, before I run it all through my press with the sightly-dampened card paper. The pressure and moisture transfers everything (ink and cutout) to the card for a completed print.
I'm getting back into block printing again. I've missed it a lot. This is one from a few years back, 4x6 with chine collé. Stay tuned for my new ones which I'll post next week.
Thanks for all the up-votes from everyone who's been enjoying my work. And thank you to everyone who's been sending tokens/wires my way since I started here! I'm still figuring out how the system works. If you'd like to support me elsewhere, I also started a Ko-Fi account: https://ko-fi.com/sarahmorrison
Stay safe and healthy, everyone!
