Over the last few months I have been active in several sites linked to crypto. Some are publishing based like Medium, Steemit, Uptrennd while others are linked to crypto based tasks or bounties like Bounty0x and Crowdholding.
One thing I always do is make a payout as soon as I hit the minimum payout threshold, which gives me a better understanding of how is the effort to reward ratio for that platform.
I recently did one article for my 1st payout from Publish0x which you can find here - https://www.publish0x.com/crypto-projects-sams-reviews/thank-you-publish0x-xqqrmg
This article is about my 1st payout from Crowdholding which got processed today morning. Before we continue with this article, let's play a game. Guess what would have been my payout amount and let me know in the comments if you got it right.
If it seems a very difficult task let me give you a hint that it is linked to the "Trick or Treat" theme of Halloween which just went by.
In case you are not very familiar with Crowdholding let me give you a brief introduction. It's a micro tasks site which rewards users in it's native currency YUP for the tasks they do. Sometimes an additional reward tokens of the project which has launched the task is also rewarded.
The minimum level for requesting a payout is 500 YUP, so as soon as I hit that level I requested a payout. It took about 2 days to process and today I saw a confirmation note on the site that the payment had been processed successfully. I immediately checked my wallet and was confused as I had not received anything. I was about to contact Crowdholding saying there has been an error in the transaction but then i decided to read the transaction log in more details. I have put a screenshot below:
The 546 YUPs I had transferred were worth $0.07 and the transaction fee involved was $0.10, so I received $0.00.
I had to read this 2-3 times to be sure I understood correctly what had happened.
The good part was that actual value should have been -$0.03 so they could have taken away 3 cents from my wallet, but i was lucky they did not take anything.
On the not so good side I realized crypto world still has many areas to improve. I live in Europe so this $0.07 would have been of no practical use and I was doing this transfer just for a test. But if we look at a wider frame 7 cents can still buy a small snack in many developing countries. Not sure if this issue is specific for YUP or a general issue but imagine in future when crypto gets popular everywhere if a person plans to eat a $0.07 snack in a developing country he can't do it.
Let me know your thoughts about this situation.
