And To The Banana Republic For Which It Stands
Disclaimer: Don't get me wrong. I'd like to see nothing more than to get this nation on the road and behaving in a manner that at least slightly resembles the plan set forth in the US Constitution*.
In the elections of 2000 and 2004, the issue of blacks voting was primarily an issue the Republicans saw as a problem. By 2016, however, the issue of progressives of all races, including predominately young white voters became a problem for both parties.
PART 1.
In part 1, we focus on the bogus election in Ohio in 2004, although the incredible tally against Al Gore of -16022 in Volusia County, Florida would have given Gore the election -- if he had wanted it -- which suggests that elections aren't taken as seriously by those running as they are by those who are lucky enough to have their vote counted.
In 2004, people were so alarmed by the Bush/Cheney administration that they registered and turned out in droves, only to be blocked from voting in Ohio by way of a number of low-tech methods the main one documented here being the long lines caused by deliberately furnishing too few voting machines in low income areas.
Note: The first CLEAR sign of Democratic collusion with the Republicans, notwithstanding Al Gore's puzzling lack of concern was the fact that Kerry literally handed GW Bush the election by conceding the election while the polls were still open; people standing out in the rain for their chance to say "no". Gore's refusal and convincing Senators not to sign on to Representatives' call for a recount (see Michael Moore's Farenheith 911) then also came into focus a little better and then the rip off of Sanders nailed the case absolutely.
So this ship sank in 2000. But in 2004, Cynthia McKinney who is also featured in this footage, regained her seat in Congress and became one of the few voices of the people pushing back against the rising tide of corporate fascism and authoritarianism in this country.

PART 2.
In Part 2, Bev Harris who produced the HBO documentary entitled "Hacking Democracy" discovered a high-tech method of hacking democracy using a software trick she dubbed "Fraction Magic". Initially this method of predetermining votes was limited to the GEMS system (developed by Microsoft) but it may by now be widely used in many different systems used by many private proprietary systems that the public is not allowed to see or understand.
This clip also shows people illegally tampering with the election computers and shows cases in Florida and Tennessee in which elections officials show utter disregard for state and federal laws governing the handling and transparency of election processes.

In Part 3, Taking us up to 2016 when her website mysteriously stopped updating, Bev Harris' investigation of Fraction Magic vote manipulation involves a demonstration of the principle by which a mock up system is hacked to modify the election results to match a predetermined outcome.

EPILOG.
By now it is abundantly clear that the majority of our Representatives are unwilling to take counting our votes seriously. This abuse of their offices of public trust needs to be answered by voting in numbers too large to ignore, too large to believably downgrade, with the single most important issue being -- our right to vote and be counted accurately... the next time.
Let's face it. It's too late for us. Whatever disaster you envision, it's too late already. So do this for our kids. Take the vote back and give it to the people!
