The first step in deciding to stream is figuring out what games you would like to play. While games like Fortnite and Apex legends have the most viewers, most of those viewers are heading to top streamers like Ninja, DrLupo, Tfue, Shroud, and more. While I also LOVE Fortnite, I do spend time streaming mobile games like 8 Ball Pool, Zynga Poker and Blackjack.
After you’ve built yourself a catalog of games, you will need to start setting up your streaming account(s). Deciding what platform you would like to broadcast to is completely up to you. While Twitch is super popular among streamers, Facebook and YouTube have live streaming. You do not have to choose one, and I highly recommend signing up for them all to create a larger platform for your content.
I highly recommend you signup for a trial of Twitch Prime and spend a few days learning how it works. Having the Prime activated will allow you to see the extra perks you could provide to your stream. Signing up for Prime is easy and you will get EXCLUSIVE Prime Loot as well as 1 free subscription to your favorite streamer.

After you have set up all your accounts between Twitch, Facebook & YouTube, you will need to download the app Omlet to your phone (available on Google Play & App Store). Omlet is a streaming platform in which you can make new connections with fellow streamers. Signing up for Omlet is easy and they provide you with a step by step guide. Omlet makes this easy to sign into all of your accounts with a simple sign in feature for each platform. Note, every time you enter Omlet to stream, you will need to switch the broadcast to section from “my wall” to your specific Facebook Page. (if applicable)
I know what you’re thinking, start it up and start streaming, TIME TO BE LIKE NINJA! Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way and Ninja had a strong following on Twitch before Fortnite even came out.
Social media will be one of your main tools in building your following. Without people interested in your content and you, no one will want to watch your video. Admit it, when you are searching for a specific thing like “how to wash my hands” on YouTube, you will go for the video with a high view count. This is something that happens automatically in our minds and content creators with low view counts have little control besides advertising on other sites. This explains why Minds is such a great platform for creators. Posts are seen in order and not dominated by advertising.
(Yes, boosted posts are a thing. But to be honest, you should be a mindsplus subscriber ANYWAY!)
Create yourself all of your social profiles. Start putting out content that you are proud of. What’s important in getting people interested in you and what you do, so make sure you are providing something REAL for your audience.
Now that you’ve built a following, you will need to make sure you are ready. Streaming mobile games can be easy, but there are people who are also extremely good. Fortnite Mobile for example has seen a spike in users who are very good in game and with recent announcements of mobile controllers being allowed, game play has only gotten increasingly more difficult without one. For iOS devices, any MFi Controller will work. For Android users I recommend the SteelSeries Stratus Duo. Keep in mind, the Mobile Controller market will continue to change and grow as they will want to supply the demand for a good mobile controller. Not all controllers available have enough reviews and your comfort and preference may be different from others.
