With any goal, planning is important but action is vital. Strategy is useless without execution. If you have a goal, draw up a plan, and START... then constantly follow up. Anything is achievable with patience and consistency. Everything is a numbers game.

A ‘frame’ is a structure that underlies or supports a system, concept, text...or MINDSET. Regulating mindset is ‘frame control.’ Mindful focus + confident, self- awareness= frame control. Achieve ‘mindful focus' with goal setting and daily planning. Then focus on the moment and trust you're subconscious to guide you. Achieve 'confident self- awareness' by knowing yourself. Learn your strengths and weaknesses. Become comfortable in your skin and see failure as opportunity. Then, you can be kind instead of vindictive, calm instead of angry, & generous instead of needy. As others get emotional over trivial events, you can stay calm and logical. Stay cool, calm, collected, and focused. Life will be more fun.

This weekend I took my daughter to a trampoline amusement park and paid extra to do the activities along with her. I learned two things: trampolines are a FANTASTIC workout and two, without supervision, kids create little chaotic societies. By the end of the day, kids had tried to cut our place in line, a kid burped continuously in another kid’s face, clicks formed and made fun of and competed with other clicks, and there was a jousting ball pit where the alphas battled for superiority. It was pretty funny and reminded me of Lord of the Flies on a small scale. My daughter and I had a blast, but noticing those peripheral details clarified that there is absolutely no law without enforcement. Structure and discipline are everything; adults that have no discipline or structure are likely to have no self-awareness or purpose but lots of attitude and entitlement. Structure derives from being proactive; run your life, don’t let your life run you. Develop self-awareness and wake up with a plan every, single day. Decide what you want in the next five years, next 6 months, and next 7 days. Life is short, time flies, and youth is fickle. Set your goals, make a plan, take small steps daily, and be unwavering. It is never too late to take a step back and create your own structure; it just takes a little self- awareness and tangible action.

HOW TO SURVIVE IN TODAY’S POLITICAL CLIMATE. It’s no secret that today, politics is ALL OVER the place. As a country we are more divided than ever, with craziness on all sides of the spectrum. Whether conservative, liberal, or moderate, with everything going on, it is easy to get stressed out. With the current state of the world, let me tell you, sometimes I just want to bury my head in a pillow and scream. At the end of the day, there are two things that you should remember, both stem from Stoic philosophy... 1. YOU CAN ONLY CONTROL WHAT YOU CAN; THERE IS NO SENSE IN LETTING WHAT YOU CAN’T STRESS YOU OUT. marcus Aurelius said, “You have power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this and you will find strength.” This relates to almost any aspect of life: work, school, relationships, sports, finances etc. Worry is a useless emotion and the majority, I’d venture to say 90- 99%, of the things we worry about never even happen. I talk about this all the time because it is so, so true. Control what you can and forget what you can’t. Do everything you can to be successful and speak your mind, but don’t waste your time worrying about what will or what has happened, stay in the present and focus on what is in front of you. 2. THE ONLY PERSON THAT CAN MAKE YOU FEEL ANY TYPE OF WAY, GOOD OR BAD, HAPPY OR SAD, IS YOURSELF. YOU ARE YOUR OWN WORST ENEMY. Marcus also said, “Choose not to be harmed, and you won’t feel harmed. Don’t feel harmed, and you haven’t been.” People may not like what you say and do, and that is okay. It’s not your problem, it’s theirs. As long as you are not harming anyone, being hateful, or inciting violence, it is okay for your voice to be heard and to speak freely. Use discretion at work, obviously, but don’t tip toe around subjects that you are passionate about. Be direct and open. If people don’t like it, tough. Nowadays, it is more important than ever to go for what you want, speak your mind, and be assertive. The key phrase is ‘be assertive;’ be confident but empathetic and understanding. Not everyone will like you. That’s okay. But what is worse is biting your tongue if there is something you want to express. Holding things in and tiptoeing around certain subjects creates regret and, even worse, resentment. Remember to keep your emotions and mind under control. When all is said and done, YOU are the only one that can make yourself upset. We all have ultimate control over our emotions.
