This rather colorful relative of the sea horse is called the Weedy Sea Dragon, and can be seen (or not) camouflaged, drifting along with the current in the swaying seaweed and grassy meadows in Southern Australia, from New South Whales to Geraldton and Tasmania. The weedy sea dragon generally looks in small crevices and other out of the way places for plankton, small shrimp, and other crustaceans, for which they swallow whole through their snout. ......................................................................................................................................................... #science #marinescience #nature #biology #animal
