Meditation is nothing more, and nothing less, than the profound art and science of Listening. These questions remain: What to listen to? What to listen with? ...and the most important: Why bother listening at all (what's the motivating factor)? Meditation is the feminine principle; it is receiving. Concentration is the masculine principle; it is directing. One directs one's attention. One uses one's Will. This is the sole function of so-called "will power". The more one learns to concentrate, the stronger one's will becomes. The better one is at concentrating, the better one becomes at listening. --------------------------------- NOTE --------------------------------- I find it immensely enjoyable to see what people find to criticize about a post like this. Of course, trolling I simply ignore and delete. There is a point to this post. While the best art allows the viewer to finish the painting, it seems that I need to state the obvious: Like anything that is actually REAL, meditation is something that every single human being on the planet does. It is intrinsic to the human experience. It's not some mystical occult secret or some new age fantasy. Nor does "religion" have a monopoly on its use(s). Understanding the simplicity will allow individuals to compose more effectively: From simple composition come complex manifestations. There are other implied questions that remain unspoken. I simply enjoy seeing if anyone desires to engage at a deeper level.
