Here's where I'm at on the Rainbow Passion Mandala I just have the violet left to do! I'll probably finish it tomorrow, this afternoon I'll be at a memorial service for my Mom's uncle that passed away. Then tonight I'm actually going to have a social life, and go to a chill gathering at @chrisdyer 's place. Should be fun! I invite you to see more of my art on my website, https://www.NexusVisions.com

Warning - Honesty Ahead Lately I've been feeling kinda lousy. Summer is usually a slower season for my art career, but this summer has been especially slow, and I've been feeling pretty stressed. I know these slow times are normal when you're a small business entrepreneur, and they'll pass. Still, in the middle of them, having to use borrowed money and worrying about making ends meet - doubts can start to creep in. I'm human. So, I decided to focus on creating this Rainbow Passion Mandala with the intention to help me balance out my emotions, and to focus more on the positive. To remind me even though things are slow right now, there's "gold at the end of the rainbow" if I just keep on following my passion with dedication. The intention behind my art career has always been to inspire people to spend more time on their own passions, to build towards making dreams reality. To be an example to people that it's possible. Sometimes, it's hard. Sometimes, it can feel like you're going nowhere fast. But, the truth is that just makes it feel so much more amazing and authentically earned when things are going well! "Zebrasphere" - Acrylic paint on 12 inch round canvas This style of my art is inspired by being a kid in the 80's. Bright funky designs were popular in 80's fashion and design. I find inspiration in things like side scrolling video games, Vuarnet shirts, Swatch watches and Lisa Frank school supplies. I try to approach each piece as if I'm creating a level for a video game, sort of a cartoony landscape style. Each level is different, but also clearly from the same game. "Midnight Moonlight" Mandala 🎨 - What do you think? It is available @ https://www.nexusvisions.com/product-page/midnight-moonlight-10-x-10-inch-acrylic-painting After I do a custom painting, I often like to do a small quick one with my own design inspirations. When I do custom work it usually takes me a bit longer. I love to do customs because I end up creating cool unique things I never would have otherwise, and I know they often have a really special meaning to the patron. However I do have to have a chat about what to create, and often have to do some sketches first. Then the whole way through I'm thinking about what the person I'm creating for would want. When I create art without having to meet someone's expectations, I can get into a state where I don't think as much and just go with the flow a little more. A while ago I did a big 48 x 48 inch painting "Water & Stone" with similar colors. This one is 10 x 10 inches. I really liked how the combination of grays and blues with white gives a bit less of a trippy psychedelic Mandala vibe, and a bit more of a modern nature inspired design vibe. It makes me think of mountains capped with snow, and winter. Cold, cloudless nights, with stars twinkling brightly and a full moon reflecting off the fresh snow making it glitter like thousands of diamonds.
