I'm heading north today to an area I have never photographed before. I'm hoping for clear weather. If all goes well I'm expecting to capture images of various birds of prey which are known to frequent this area. Who knows what other wildlife might present itself? I'll be staying overnight, which should give me an evening and a dawn scenario.

A baby Purple Swamphen (Porphyrio porphyrio). I followed this family's progress over several months. When the chicks were very young they were impossible to photograph because their downy feathers have the magic ability to absorb photons. But as they get older they 'grey-up' a bit and as you can see in this photo, the purple colouration begins to emerge. #birds #Australia
