As of now, this is the most believable take on the matter. I'll trust the expert over the writer who doesn't understand the technology. People want an enemy so badly they'll take a minor issue and spin it to push a political agenda. Google is a private company. They don't owe anyone anything save for their investors. They certainly don't owe website visitors to anyone. If they started down that road every site could accuse them of censoring them just because they don't rank well. Instead or blaming the seaech engine, blame the sites that don't provide enough quality to rank near the top for whichever search terms they're targeting.

First, they’re not. They may have experimented with technology that would effectively censor their corner of the internet, but they’re not going to risk the loss of credibility and even if they did, enough people know how to find even that which is hidden, so the information would be out within a day..." https://www.minds.com/newsfeed/779384386293342214 #censorship #internet #google #news #politics #freespeech #speech #minds #freedom
