I used to be irrationally opposed to nuclear energy because of the meltdown risks. I changed my mind because: 1. Modern nuclear tech is vastly safer than legacy 2. Energy independence for every country on earth is essential to a sustainable and peaceful world 3. The more we focus on it, the safer, cleaner and more advanced it will get.
