NewsBreakers - Time for Revival (Subscribe!) Ahh yes, that time in 2018 Langley Productions - the creators of the classic American longest running reality TV show "COPS" - assembled our founder @robertcaputo and his rag-tag group of indie journalist friends with the mission to craft a TV show concept that would deliver a palatable fuck-the-duopoly anti-MSM message to the masses with *gasp* CREDIBLE JOURNALISM! We recorded the concept at the Women's March in 2018 in Los Angeles CA & Las Vegas, NV over a weekend. The actual premise of the show was to build a high tech news van that can be deployed around the country with various indie journalists using it as a publishing and tactical hub on the fly (represented by the RV). Footage underwent approximately 3 months of full time editing to narrow down the hundreds or thousands of hours recorded that weekend to under 10 minutes. We were told at one point that the COPS editor was so invested in it, that he fell behind on the current season of COPS! Finally, around April/May it was done. The sizzle was unveiled to us via a live stream watch party, in which we were not allowed to save or copy the footage - this was under NDA still mind you. We were STOKED at their hard work though!! We remained hopeful and grateful. NewsBreakers then under went pitching to various networks from approximately May to September of 2018, at which time we were told that TV shows don't get financed in Sept-Dec and they would have to wait until Jan 2019 to book pitch meetings again. Alas, January 2019 comes and they begin pitching again. Long story short, September came and once again - no one bold enough to take us on. We did receive occasional positive feedback that perhaps certain people in these meetings loved the idea, us, the sizzle... but ultimately it was the upper level execs that shot it down. Ahh, censorship! Come the end of 2019, we were granted full rights to this sizzle to do as our hearts so desire. We assembled a group of indie media savants in Northern Arizona that April to discuss plans of a rigorous crowd-fund/self-publish model to ensure the show goes on if it didn't get picked up by a network (you should have seen the list of investigative subjects for the show if it would have happened). And guys, for the record - we basically knew it wasn't going to happen. Even Langley was skeptical, but they thought it was worth a s0-called Hail Mary. Keep in mind, our attempt at this was following the initial Alt Media Purge of 2017 ahead of Trump's early admin. Langley knew media was dead and there was no hope in MSM, which is what drew them to find G3 Group. So anyway, we had the sizzle now, but as we all know the pandemic begun to take grip Q1 2020, so of course the plans we made in APril were drastically sidelined for a number of reasons. However, we have not given up. We have continued to be a successful unit & organization these last 18-24 months, albeit without much of an online presence. We have kept this on the low for a long time, but we think it's time for a revival. Do you?
