I moved to a post-communist country years ago, and one of the things that people here will tell you is to beware of doublespeak, when a politician says something but you know they mean the opposite. Like when they say its a threat to #democracy, but it is really a threat to their non-democratic view of power. Their threat to cancel culture. Their threat to cultural imperialism. Their threat to marxism. If they want democracy, they want the recall. They don't want the recall, therefore they don't want....?
