It is common knowledge that the smart and intelligent people in society rarely become cops, however, this is a whole new level of incompetence. Lucky for us this cop caught himself breaking the law.
No one wants to believe they are the monster that is facilitating tyranny. That is why it is easier for order followers to repeat useful euphemisms such as "just doing my job" because they too don't want to acknowledge the nightmare of horrors tyranny ushers in.
Yes, he shouldn't have been laying in the road after being shot but in that same sentiment, the officer should have been much more aware of her surroundings, especially when responding to a call.
