Only when mammals have given birth, they lactate(give milk). Cows lactate for about 10 months after birth, but the milk they produce is for us humans. So farmers take their calves away. If it is a female cow farmers raise them to have the same fate as their mother, if it is a male cow they are sold for the veal. After a time like this they are inseminated again to repeat the proces again and again until they faint(drop down due to exhaustion). Then the cows are sold for meat.
