Fogo Island is the largest of the offshore islands of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada . The island population in 2016 had 2,244 people once held ancient folk customs brought from England and Ireland tahat are now disappearing .but the island still attracts a wide range of visitors interested in local history wildlife , hiking trails such as the Lions Den ,Brimstone Head, Turpan's just to name a few there are 7 in total as well as 10 town local museums and heritage properties . In 2008 Fogo launched a platform for contemporary art on the island via a series of residencies hosted at different studios around Fogo and its turning out to be very successful ,As for this island it is quaint and beautiful the people are so friendly as most down easterners are and this town is on exception , i just love Newfoundland ! photo credit Ray Mackey. #exploringcanada#wilslifeallaround#friendlycanadians
