It's funny how we react when we see intelligence in animals - the ability to communicate, to respond, to learn - although all of them are widespread and often quite advanced. Certain birds show amazing problem-solving abilities - e.g. crows and parrots. They really manage to solve multi-step puzzles that require actual planning.
