Gov. DeSantis Seeks to Shield Florida’s Universities From Chinese Espionage, Theft Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill on Tuesday to protect higher education institutions in the state from espionage and intellectual property theft carried out by China’s Communist Party. Known as HB 7017, the bill requires more transparency and disclosure from scientists, technicians and administrators on foreign support for postsecondary institutions. It also increases scrutiny for research grants. “Make no mistake — China is a hostile foreign power, and every Governor has the responsibility to protect their education system, and every other entity within their purview, from the espionage and commercial theft undertaken by the Chinese Communist Party,” DeSantis said in a statement.

Chipotle Hikes Menu Prices In An Effort To Overcome Labor Shortages June 9, 2021 By Maggie Hroncich Your next burrito might cost a little more than usual. Chipotle Mexican Grill is hiking menu prices by about 4 percent to cover the cost of its recent wage increases. The company announced in May that it is looking to hire 20,000 employees and will incentivize new hires with starting wages of $11-$18, averaging at a $15 hourly wage. The company is also adding increased referral bonuses for employees and providing a path to work up to a six-figure salary. Brian Niccol, Chipotle’s CEO, said these investments in employees would not come without cost. “It made sense in this scenario to invest in our employees and get these restaurants staffed and make sure that we have the pipeline of people to support our growth. And then with that, we’ve taken some pricing to cover some of that investment,” he said. Chipotle is among a multitude of companies like McDonald’s, Amazon, KFC, and Applebee’s that are desperate to attract workers as labor shortages continue across the country. According to the Wall Street Journal, a Chamber of Commerce survey found that over 90 percent of companies said “a lack of available workers was slowing the economy in their area.” Although there are reports of record job openings and “Now Hiring” signs line every street corner, the national unemployment rate is still 5.8 pecent. Since combined state and federal unemployment perks add up to more than working full-time with a $15 hourly wage, many Republicans have blamed the government handouts for disincentivizing workers. A group of House Republicans recently sent a message to President Biden asking him to end the federal unemployment benefits sooner than the official September expiration date. In a letter obtained by Fox Business, four Republican lawmakers, led by Rep. James Comer, R-KY, argued the benefits were “weighing down the American economy.” “It is past time for Americans to get back to normal,” the letter stated. “It is past time to end the stay-at-home bonus, reopen schools for full in-person instruction, and incentivize Americans to get back to work.” Maggie Hroncich is an intern at The Federalist and a student at Hillsdale College. --Chipotle Hikes Menu Prices In An Effort To Overcome Labor Shortages --https://thefederalist.com/2021/06/09/chipotle-hikes-menu-prices-in-an-effort-to-overcome-labor-shortages/ -RETRIEVED-Thu Jun 10 2021 14:05:56 GMT+0200 (Central European Summer Time)

Woman Who Grew Up Under Mao’s Oppressive Communist Regime: ‘All This Seems Very Familiar’ A mother who grew up under Mao in China tells the Loudoun County school board that training children to be social justice warriors, to hate their heritage and dividing people into groups is essentially the same kind of indoctrination that led China becoming Communist: What she said: I’ve been very alarmed about what’s been going on in our school. You are now training our children to be social justice warriors and to loathe our country and our history. Growing up in Mao’s China, all this seems very familiar. The Communist regime used the same critical theory to divide people. The only difference is they used classes instead of race. During the cultural revolution I witnessed students and teachers again turn against each other. We change the school names to be politically correct. We were taught to denounce our heritage; the red guards destroyed anything that is not communist. Statues, books and anything else. We were also encouraged to report on each other just like the student equity ambassador program and the bias reporting system. This is indeed the American version of the Chinese cultural revolution. The Critical Race Theory has its roots in cultural marxism; it should have NO PLACE in our schools. Damn, if that doesn’t sound almost exactly like what’s going on here. From dividing people into racial groups, teaching them to hate their American heritage because of whites, and destroying everything associated with our heritage, like statues, conservative books, etc…it’s like the Democrat Party is following a freaking template. The problem is she’s telling a bunch of Democrats who are America’s version of Chinese cultural revolutionaries, and so her message will no doubt fall on deaf ears. But hopefully enough people hear and understand this so they can replace this socialist school board with people who actually love our country and are willing to defend it. --WATCH: Mother who grew up in Mao’s China WARNS school board that CRT is the same kind of communist indoctrination – The Right Scoop --https://therightscoop.com/watch-mother-who-grew-up-in-maos-china-warns-school-board-that-crt-is-the-same-kind-of-communist-indoctrination/ -RETRIEVED-Thu Jun 10 2021 13:54:26 GMT+0200 (Central European Summer Time)
