🚨 New Video Up! 🚨 Good morning, gamers! This morning I wanted to talk about the new Cruella movie. It is 100% a re-imagining, because, let's be honest, there's no way to redeem a puppy killer... but I think that's where Disney went absolutely wrong with this character. It's like running PR for a villain; a rebrand campaign for a long-time villain and... well... I don't have problems with movies about villains, but I think there's a major problem in Hollywood right now that's particularly about victimizing villains in a shallow attempt to retcon who they actually are. Maybe no one really cares about this, but let's talk about Cruella and what I think an actual Cruella origin story could look like. Looking forward to your thoughts! If you had to pick just one, who is the main character of your series? Kurall How many central characters does the series have? Too many - that’s why there is so many campaigns and books. Which book in the series is your favorite? The Chronicles of Kurall. Which book in your series is the lightest and why? I don’t know yet. Which book in your series is the most serious or intense and why? The Chronicles of Kurall. What is a central theme of the series? Suffering is the only way to find your life’s purpose and meaning. What genre tropes do you embrace in your series? Impossible feats of daring do. Do you subvert any genre tropes in your series? There isn’t a chosen one, there is the chosen many. What element, character, or idea about your series excites you the most? Taking everyone to the darkest of the black pills, and then giving them the brightest white pill ever. What inspired your series? Kurall was my favourite City of Heroes character, and then they nerfed him and pissed me off. I took matters in my own hand. Even 17 years later. What has been the hardest part of writing your series? So many starts and stops - and the scope. I have the rest of my life planned out for me. How do you think your novel compares to others of a similar genre or audience and what makes your series stand out? I’ve never read any comics or novels, or seen any movies where the world was conquered by aliens but one city was being protected by people with superheroes. Like Harry Potter has the lightning bolt, does your series have a symbol that signifies it to you? What is it and what is the significance behind the symbol? Three Oriental Dragons - Blue on Top, Green to the bottom Right and Red to the bottom Left in a circle. I won’t say why, because that gives away the story. @KirkpattieCake
