Starfish Hunting - The Harlequin Shrimp

Found marauding the coral reefs in the tropical Indian and Pacific oceans, you will find the harlequin shrimp hunting starfishes. Once harlequins see a starfish, they spring into action, rushing towards its prey. Flipping the starfish over, they drag it back to their lair for feeding. These guys are quite skilled at flipping over the slower starfish on its back, then eating the tube feet and soft tissues until it reaches the central disk. .................................................................................. #art #photography #science #nature #education
