In the highlands far from the forest, houses are made of stone. It is formed by placing the stones on top of each other in a regular manner without mortar. In some plateaus, the houses are covered with hartama, while in others they are covered with tent cloth. These houses are single storey and single compartment. One side of the house is used as a kitchen and the other side is used as a sitting and sleeping place. Sometimes it happens that a simple curtain is drawn in the sleeping area. In these single-section houses, the animals are placed next to the house, surrounded by stone walls that are not too high.

Malabadi Bridge is the widest arch among the stone bridges in Turkey and the near east. The bridge is within the provincial borders of Diyarbakir. On both sides of the arch, on the inside, there are two rooms used as shelter by the caravan and passengers, especially during the harsh winter days. It is said that these rooms, which were also used by the bridge guards, were previously connected with the corridors and the bottom of the road, and the footsteps of the incoming caravans were heard when they were further away through these corridors.
