This is a Springhaas. Essentially they're tiny little mouse thing that lives in Africa. They hop around like itty bitty kangaroos.

So I managed to somehow get my printer working again. Turns out that one of the ink cartridges was in fact empty and another was dried solid. Another one apparently leaked all over the inside of the printer or something, throwing the entire gizmo out of whack. After some advanced jigerypokery it started working again just fine. :-)
