If you see stacks of stone where they don't belong, knock that shit over. The real ones are trail markers called "cairns". Those will be large and old, usually near turns on mountain paths. The bullshit ones damage fragile habitat in streams and rivers, not to mention they accelerate erosion and allow the water to get muddy, usually because some asshole thought it would look cool on instagram.
