Okay...hear me out...
Let's say you're playing a segment in a game where, in order to progress, your character must lose in order to progress the game.
Devs should have the player take control of the boss or enemy and defeat the main character or party, instead of the other way around.
Having to lose to progress seems illogical. Also, who even likes winning a fight just to lose in the following cutscene because the boss was 'holding back' or some bs?
