The Simple Life

I'll start this by asking, what do you want out of life? When you've answered that sincerely, bring it down to your environment. Your partner, family and people around you. I once read this article where the author explained the simple life. It taught me a lot of things. It also opened my eyes more to the people around me. There are those who are predisposed to the simple things. To wake up to the love of their life everyday, go about their small businesses, raise their children, go to church, love some more, and in the end, die as quietly as they lived. They wouldn't have it any other way. Unlike the others, they don't care about wealth and fame. Just enough to keep things balanced. They don't want things like the ambitious one does. They are content within themselves. They just want a happy and simple life with the people they love. Another question for you; how much do you impose? If your partner is someone who wants it simple, you may not realise it but at some point you might have forced that energy on them without stopping to asked what they wanted and if you can meet it. In your quest for success, you slowly choke the life out of them. Perhaps that's the reason some people choose to stay out of relationships till they've gotten to the place they want to be. But even that won't stop the energy. The higher you go, the higher you want to go still. That's human nature. We can't change it. It's okay to wonder why someone would be satisfied with so little. It would bother you that they didn't want to expand like everyone else. But one thing we forget is that they are adults like us. They also have their visions, and they love it simple. It makes them happy just like the chase makes you happy. You want the world but they're fine where they are. Yes, they will support you but it doesn't change who they are. They aren't you. At some point, you'll have to pause and let them be. You'll understand that you'll have to do some things alone. No, they don't love you any less. They just aren't cut out for all the energy. They don't want the eccentric. If you continue to push them, you'll gain the world and lose your heart. And you'll return home one day hoping to find your partner's outstretched arms only to run into an empty wall. You would rebuild, yes. But you wouldn't have to in the first place if you created a balance. There are people who want the simplicity of life, and that too is okay. #writing #life #happiness #kindness
