Happy Pride Month!

Pride month everyone! woot! I can't believe how out of control pride has gotten since I was in high school when it was just the LGB community looking to educate people and be accepted, not persecuted, for who they loved. Now not only is it who you're attracted to, but incorporates every identity facet of a person's life. Their Sex, Race, Who you like, Who you want to be (or not be) We should be proud of how far we've come. It's been a long journey from, "It shouldn't matter who a person loves, say out of people's bedrooms!", to get to, "Wax my feminine cock and balls bigot! I have a underage nude pool party to attend." (source: Jessica Yaniv, a Canadian transgender activist). Seriously though, we are headed in the wrong direction. A person should not be broken down into the smallest identity unit they can be and defined by their race, sex, gender, sexual orientation and what they do in their bedroom for sexual entertainment. Human beings are so much more that that. The LGBT community should not let deviants define the face of their movement, as has become the custom in the last decade. Loving someone is one thing. You can't help who you like anymore than you can help what your favourite colour is. Letting an 8 year old girl drag a person dressed as a dog in bondage gear around on a leash or adult men throwing money at a 12 year old boy in stripper drag while twerking around for attention is an entirely different thing altogether.

So depressing. I shared this because it didn't say anything I didn't already know and haven't already heard/looked into before, and my co-workers called me a "dangerous conspiracy theorist" and said people like me were responsible for the mess we're in. A few of my co-workers have already had some form of a vaccine. Two have had the AZ, one was fine, one has been in and out for 3 weeks since getting it and finally went to the hospital yesterday. I don't yet know how she's doing or if the vaccine has anything to do with the pain / sickness she's been feeling for the last 3 weeks. My province, Nova Scotia, last week put a "pause" on using the AZ vaccine along with several other provinces across Canada. Nova Scotia is using case counts from mass testing as an excuse to keep locking people down. But a few things here. The test aren't accurate. There's a high rate of false positives, everyone seems to admit this. So this becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. The government post daily numbers, when the numbers get above 20 they start encouraging people to get tested and all these popup clinics show up. Massive numbers of people go and get tested, then there's a huge spike in case counts, which the government uses to encourage more testing, but also uses to justify lock downs. The same thing has happened over and over since March of last year. Why are people still falling for this? Why does pointing it out make me a dangerous person? I guess as the saying goes. "It's easier to fool people than it is to convince them they've been fooled."
