Born Anew

Weird fact: I was half asleep and dreaming with this poetry in my head. I was writing it and my Mama was asking if I had eaten (all in the dream). I woke and forgot everything I wrote, save for the beginning. The forgotten part was much better by the way. Take a look. __ My fight I awake to uncertainties Insecurities threatening me Desires mocking me They believe it's me My old self who cower And tremble at their feet I let them smirk and toast I watched them drink and merry Knowing it will be their last My rebellion I come home with weak legs My arms are broken My muscles are sore For a moment I let them win Their snigger got to me Until I remembered my promise I stood tall with determination I crushed and ruined I destroyed them inch by inch My strength I hear a voice calling me Nudging me awake It tells me to open my eyes And face my demons It pushes me over my deepest fears I'm born anew Like a sinner who finds salvation Like a warrior after his first battle #poetry #writing #warrior #strength
