Lolol - someone found a 2012 paper by Fauci arguing gain-of-function (making diseases more dangerous) research is worth doing despite the risk of creating a pandemic No surprise he was trying to matrix dodge Rand Paul coming for him for funding the Wuhan Institute of Virology with NIH grants https://archive.ph/2021.05.28-122251/https://amp.theaustralian.com.au/world/anthony-fauci-backed-virus-experiments-despite-pandemic-risk/news-story/3c604681cfcbfeda88bac25e372a1b8a

While I'm not really a weeb, it's heartening to see that "get woke, go broke" is a real thing in the comic books industry. It doesn't matter if Kimetsu no Yaiba outsold the entire American comics industry (some put the figure at 150 million to 15 million copies sold), the sheer scale at which manga is trouncing American comics is hilarious. In 2020, the top 20 graphic novels in sales were all manga. The fundamental difference in the two industries is American comic books are authored by people who were (and aren't) fans of the comics or the characters. They don't want to tell good stories, they want to preach at you. And here's the thing: for all their grandstanding, leftists simply don't like comics, so even their intended audience isn't paying attention.

The Spectator is getting in on the lab-leak action too but strangely it attempts to exonerate dishonest and incompetent journos (https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-covid-lab-leak-theory-is-looking-increasingly-plausible) Practically nothing changed evidence-wise over the last year so the journos can’t point at new evidence that changed their mind They refused to call out Daszak’s conflict of interest and push back on the “there is only circumstantial evidence so it must be a debunked conspiracy theory” narrative The highlights of this article are describing how China stage managing the WHO virus origin investigation massively backfired on them (turns out being powerful makes you bad at persuasion) and mentioning how the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s virus database went offline a year ago and the lead bat virus collector Shi Zhengli has refused to put it back up.
