Feeling true emotion is a learned skill. It takes practice for a meaningful relationship, and requires love to nurture and anchor it in our lives. To be constantly incensed, to be desensitized daily, to constantly be treated as emotionless, that is the true harm to humanity. To feel all of it is to be secure in our station, to be able to be deeply in love, from the heart, with something and someone. We don't give that space in our shock and awe media world. We give the impression of feeling, and then don't care when it fails to live up to the theory of it. If we want to really unite around something meaningful, we should focus on feeling from the heart again. Its clear what can be offered in a high intensity delivered to your hand world of media, maybe we can do better in not filtering that, but in creating emotional works of beauty again.
