Pushki grows to be over 6ft tall. It's flowers are the size of a small dinner plate. The sap burns your skin when exposed to sunlight. Some people are naturally immune and Native children run through the pushki like it is nothing. I am not immune but I am resistant...it helps that I am so very white because it is a reaction between pigment, the sap and the UV rays. Because I am resistant I prefer to chop it down instead of my Husband. The burn will last for years sometimes because when the blisters pop if you don't whip away the sap immediately it just soaks in and forms another blister. When the sap lands on my skin I can feel it and I rub dirt on it to hide it from the sun. I will sometimes get very covered in dirt when I go to war with the pushki.
