Posing figures together under the same lights to see how they look together. You dial in the figures in isolation, and sometimes they look good on their own... then look like freaks when they are posed next to each other. Doesn't matter if they are more realistic or stylized - sometimes the heads look weird, or the hands. Humans have a symmetry that you need to fool the mind's eye, even when stylized like this. (Well... one of these is an Elf, but the idea is the same.) I'll have to put together a doubleplusgood villain, and then I can string some story images together. Rendered in Daz3d, post-work in GIMP.
