I think a good example is Anthony Blunt (Sir from 1956 to 1979). He was an art historian responsible for the Royal Collection in the post of "Surveyor of the King's/Queen's Pictures". In 1963 it was discovered that he was a Soviet Spy and recruiter. His knighthood was stripped in 1979 when the then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher revealed his role to the public.
