Artist Paul McCormack Paul W. McCormack was born in Rahway, New Jersey, in 1962. He received his formal art training at DuCret School of the Arts, where he later became a faculty member. Working exclusively in watercolors for the first ten years of his career, Paul made his mark early on with figurative work that defied the medium and one's sensibilities of traditional watercolor painting. Returning to Oils in the early '90s and working in both mediums, he has enjoyed a successful portrait career for over 30 years with a long affiliation with Portraits Inc. in NYC. In recent years, he has broken away from portraiture and returned to creating works that are more personal in nature. His work has been featured in numerous national and international publications and books. His paintings have appeared on two covers of the Artist's Magazine, first in 1998, where he won First Place in the Portrait Category in their annual competition. Throughout his career, he has been the recipient of many awards, including the "Gold Medal of Honor" from the Allied Artists of America 101st Annual Exhibition, and the "Silver Medal Award" from the Oil Painters of America 21st National Juried Exhibition. Artist Paul Kelley Paul Kelley is a Nova Scotia artist who's figurative paintings, and Nova Scotia art is collected by individuals and corporations throughout Canada and the world. His statement: "I hope that throughout my career I have been able to please many people with my paintings, and that my figurative art has been particularly pleasurable for people who understand that the qualities of sensual beauty that I instill in this art subject are just that. I have always regarded this work as a celebration of the female form and commentary on woman's commanding visual presence in our world, in addition to their humanity and intellect. I believe that it is important to appreciate beauty as an end in itself. It is as simple as being able to stop and regard the beauty of sunrise before a hectic day; and as complicated as overcoming our preconditioning to desire to see more than what we see. Allegory and metaphor exist in my artwork, but the beauty and grace of the female form in my artwork is intended to convey just that." Paul Jerrard Hummingbird These charming illustrations of flowers are the height of Victorian illustration, accompanied by equally flowery poetry written by F.W.N. Bayley Esq. They are now extremely rare, as are the other works Jerrard published, “The Floral Offering” and “Exotic Birds.” Each is beautifully hand colored and enhanced by gold lettering. On the verso of most is a poem, also in gold lettering. http://www.panteek.com/JerrardHummingbirds/index.htm Source: http://ludikosior.blogspot.com/2013/04/paul-jerrard-hummingbird-antique-prints.html #art #painting #classic #flowers #illustration
