This show is an example of something I didn't personally like, but I could also tell that was entirely my own subjective tastes and that the show is very well made and will definitely appeal to other people. So I recommend it even though I don't watch it. It's realistic speculative sci fi, I simply prefer more fantasy and horror, I want hideous alien monsters eating people's faces in my sci fi.

Yep. Watch out for anyone who moralizes in public, especially if they have a history of lack of self control followed by a "born again" moment they claim absolved them and now they blame their own bad decisions on something external like an art form or subculture. Massive red flags.
