A quick review of some of the slaves taken from the British Isles. The sack of Baltimore, Ireland, in 1631 is a good example of this sort of thing. Remember that these are examples of slave raids by foreigners, more often than not from Africa but often led by Europeans. In addition to that, there is the sale of Irish captives by the English into slavery in the New World, which was (of course) entirely legal.
