If I were a public figure and someone I didn't like were nevertheless raising money for a good charity, I'd play that drama up in order to benefit the charity; turn it into a theatrical contest and try to get my "side" to out-raise the other "side".

One of the most consistent and predictable patterns of the woke left is how they have no qualms about sabotaging charity drives, if someone they don't like - or have been told not to like - is involved in any way. They happily rip money out of the hands of the needy over petty drama, while at the same time pushing for socialist public policies. There's no limits to their callousness and hypocrisy, just as long as the affluent a-holes don't have to ever lift a finger or spend a dime to help another human being. It's one of the most despicable aspects of this moral panic/culture war/religious fervor/public mental health crisis/however you want to try to characterize wokeness. All of the above.
